Tay-K, born Taymor Mcintyre, was found guilty of murder last Friday after pleading not guilty to capital murder and a separate account of aggravated robbery according to XXL Mag. Also pleading guilty to two additional counts of aggravated robbery, Tay admitted that he had involvement in the robbery with several others. On July 16, when the capital murder trial began, the rapper also admitted that he did not coordinate Walker’s murder.

According to XXL, one of Tay’s 3 defense attorneys, Jeff Kearney, says that the rapper couldn’t have predicted that Lathatian Merritt, the rapper’s associate, “was going to go in and intentionally kill for no reason, intentionally kill Ethan Walker.” Despite what Kearney had to say, the jury returned with a guilty verdict on Friday.

The events in the murder case began in July 2016, when the robbery and subsequent murder of Ethan Walker took place. Shortly after, Tay-K was arrested and charged for Walker’s death. Tay made a run for it after 6 months of house arrest, but was apprehended in June of 2018, which is also when he released his music video for “The Race” on YouTube according to XXL. Tay-K was later charged for another murder as police believed he killed photographer Mark Saldivar after attempting to steal his photography equipment. The murder took place at a Chick-Fil-A in San Antonio, TX.
