A few short months after releasing his TDT project, Big K.R.I.T. is back with his fourth studio album K.R.I.T. IZ HERE featuring J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Rico Love & More. The Mississippi rapper announced the release last month, confirming it was a sequel to his 2010 breakout mixtape, K.R.I.T. Wuz Here. He spoke on Beats 1 about the project.

“For me, it was about also showcasing that I can go different places. It either be singing, live instrumentation, and how I sometimes want to use my vocals as more of an instrument, than just being on the record,” he said about the project. “Also, tackling certain issues, or how I feel about certain social topics and things like that in my music, but not in a way that people are accustomed to me hearing. We got a few other features that I’m super excited about, but knowing that K.R.I.T. Wuz Here, the 10 year anniversary was going to be next year. It was important I let people know that K.R.I.T. is here now.”
