The rapper’s Adidas Yeezy line has burst into the footwear industry, and according to Forbes West eponymous footwear line is projected to reach a whopping $1.5 billion in sales by the end of the year. This venture began booming in 2013 when Kanye West left Nike for Adidas and presented his first collaborative Trefoil Brand sneakers in 2015.

According to the cover of the money magazine such a boost will put the brand in competition with Nike’s 34-year-old Jordan Brand, which rakes in about $3 billion in annual revenues. This announcement comes right before the YEEZY Boost 350 V3 model on the way.

“I am a product guy at my core,” he said in the Forbes interview. “To make products that make people feel an immense amount of joy and solve issues and problems in their life — that’s the problem-solving that I love to do.”

Forbes pegged West at $150 million as far as his pre-tax income over the last year however, his team believes that could be a lot higher, which landed him at No. 3 on Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list.
