Jay-Z is using his money and status to help those who need it the most.

Earlier this month, a Phoenix family was held forcefully at gunpoint after their daughter took a toy from a local store. The family has since then filed a $10 million lawsuit against the city of Phoenix after the incident, claiming the police threatened physical harm on the family.

As news spread on the incident, billionaire Jay-Z learned about the incident and is now offering free legal counsel to the family. In a statement from Roc Nation’s Managing Director of Philanthropy, the label is “committed to supporting the family to ensure that justice is served,” calling the incident “absolutely sickening.”
