Earlier today, the Fenty Corp. CEO’s latest interview spread for T Magazine dropped, with the singer talking about building her empire, making history, and her highly anticipated upcoming album. Throughout her interview, the beauty icon talked about how she created her Fenty brand to separate herself from her endeavors.

“I used to be afraid to step into the whole celebrity makeup world because you lose your respect and credibility. So everything I did outside of music, I used Fenty so that you didn’t have to hear the word “Rihanna”. So Rihanna stayed the music, the person.”

When asked about her music career, the Barbados native says she never dreamed about becoming a singer. “I didn’t have these dreams when I was little. I just had a dream of making music. I didn’t think about the fame part, then that happened, then the one-hit-wonder comment came straight out of the gate and that put a fire under my ass and I just never stopped working.”

While creating her fashion/beauty empire, Rihanna hasn’t left her music career solely behind. The ‘ANTI’ singer spilled some news on R9, the singer’s ninth upcoming studio album. While the singer hasn’t officially found a name for the album, she did point out that Drake, who was said to be featured isn’t and a Lady Gaga collab is something she isn’t against.

“So far it’s just been R9, thanks to the Navy. I’m about to call it that probably, cause they have haunted me with this “R9, R9, when is R9 coming out?” How will I accept another name after that’s been burned into my skull?”
