Usher‘s mom Jonetta Patton opened up J’s Kitchen Culinary Incubator, a place for Atlanta chefs to hone their craft and share resources. While finding customers for the chefs, Patton received a call from Hungry, a startup connecting chefs with companies looking for catered meals.

Since partnering with Patton, Usher has since come on as an investor for the startup collective, joining Jay-Z (Marcy Venture Partners) and Ndamukong Suh through it’s $8 million Series A initiative. The entertainers join a long list of culinary vets featuring Whole Foods CEO Walter Robb and Top Chef judge Tom Colicchio.
