Emanuel Gonzalez, a Commander of the New York Police Department, is reportedly under investigation after a roll call where he told his team of officers to shoot hip-hop artist 50 Cent on sight according to The Hollywood Reporter. Despite threatening 50 Cent’s life, Gonzalez still remains on active duty as he has been apart of the NYPD team for 30 years.

While the police told The Hollywood Reporter, “The matter is under internal review,” 50 Cent is making it clear that he is aware of the situation as he took to Twitter to respond by stating that he is “very seriously” considering the reported threat. In 50 Cent’s tweet, he states, “This is how I wake up this morning, This guy Emanuel Gonzalez is a dirty cop abusing his POWER. The sad part is this man still has a badge and a gun. I take this threat very seriously and im consulting with my legal counsel regarding my options moving forward.”

Details in regards to the story are still developing, but what is very interesting about the connection between Gonzalez and 50 Cent is that one month prior to the roll call in question, Gonzalez filed a complaint against 50 Cent for aggravated harassment as he claimed the rapper threatened him via Instagram. Following 50 Cent’s Instagram comment, “Get the strap,” on a report noting Gonzalez shaking down a club owner, Gonzalez filed a complaint saying several of 50 Cent’s millions of followers added threats to his “Get the strap” comment. While the department did investigate the complaint, charges were not filed against 50 Cent.
