After the drop of the Netflix and Hulu’s Fyre Festival documentaries, those involved in faled event faced a lot of backlash and criticism on social media, especially media company FuckJerry, Ja Rule, and Fyre founder Billy McFarland.

As of recently, it’s been reported that McFarland has been ordered to pay back EHL Funding the $2.8 million he was loaned for the Fyre Festival.

EHL Funding sued Billy McFarland and Ja Rule over the $3 million they loaned to them just weeks before the Fyre Festival kicked off. EHL won a default judgment because McFarland reportedly never responded to the lawsuit.

McFarland is currently serving a six year sentence for wire fraud, which plays into the reason why he didn’t respond. The judge ordered McFarland to give EHL back $2,891,600 and 30 percent interest. This fine excludes EHL’s legal fees, which McFarland will have to pay for as well.

Ja Rule, however, got off lucky. The rapper was not ordered to pay back a dime, as McFarland was faulted for everything. Ja Rule checked in with TMZ about the lawsuit, saying, “this is FAKE NEWS GUYS LOL.”

Ja Rule is still denying any malicious behavior in the situation and has stood by his statement that he never intended to harm anyone. “I had an amazing vision to create a festival like NO OTHER!!! I would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD anyone what sense does that make???,” he tweeted.
