Chloe x Halle Say They Wrote Over 400 Songs For Their Debut Album

In 2013 during their YouTube days, Chloe and Halle Bailey posted a cover of a Beyoncé song and hand no clue that Beyoncé would watch it, sign them to her record label and become their mentor.

After five years of writing new music fortheir first album, The Kids Are Alright, the duo shared with us that they wrote more than 400 songs and narrowed it down to 18-tracks for the project.

Chloe x Halle explained that they had a hand in writing and producing every song on their debut album. “We self-produced the album,” says Chloe. “We write on every single song and we even executive-produced the album.”

The album was created in their living room, which is where the magic normally happens. “Whenever we’re feeling something, Chloe goes into the living room, she starts playing this really cool beat,” says Halle.
