Diddy’s never-ending evolution from ground up media mogul to career cultural influencer has been nothing short of entertaining and inspiring. The empire built by the former intern turned entertainer has provided the quintessential unorthodox blueprint for entrepreneurs of color in the entertainment field. Seemingly stemming from his interview on black enterprise with Variety earlier this year, Diddy took to Instagram and Twitter to announce his Black 100 List.

The names making the cut come from a range of industries, including musicians, entrepreneurs, politicians, journalists, athletes and many more, some who aren’t even black.

Music staples such as the power couple of JAY-Z and Beyoncé make an appearance on the list, in addition to those providing behind the scenes magic, like frequent collaborator Laurieann Gibson and ‘God’s Plan’ director Karena Evans. Bad Boy rapper Machine Gun Kelly, journalist Anderson Cooper and tech titan Elon Musk also made the list, which asks the question of what the “Black” is specifically in the list.

“Culture creators, I have something special for you,” he teased in reference to the names listed on black boxes he plans to release. The true intention of the mogul’s list should be revealed soon enough, what do you guys think of the names that made the list?
