Serayah, also known as Tiana in Empireis moving up the ladder of stardom. Since her first appearance on the award-wining show, her career as a singer, dancer and actress has skyrocketed. She’s even gained the attention of Queen Bey, who gave her a direct praise for her good efforts.

Serayah has been focusing more on releasing original music and visuals outside of Empire. Just in April she dropped an 8-song project, Addicted, and is now popping out with a new video for the single “So Good.” And it’s only her in her new music video– no dancers or anyone else to feed off of her energy.

Billboard recently interviewed the actress about how her new song came to life.

“I was vibing in the studio in North Hollywood. The producer, Joe Black, works a lot with Rodney Jerkins, which is how I met him. Also, Akazi and Wade, these two songwriters. I ended up laying some melodies down because that’s how I usually like to do it, melodies first. We were all in the room just vibing. I just happened to say, [sings] ‘Mmm, mmm, mmm, so good,’ and I was like, ‘I think that’s the hook, y’all!’ And we went from there. So, we saved that part, wrote the rest of the song, and it was just lit,” Serayah told Billboard.

The triple threat then shared how she had her moment with Beyonce. She told Billboard that she was invited backstage by Taylor Swift who had just won album of the year and while she was backstage Beyonce walked by.

“…I broke down and I was like, ‘Oh my God, you’re my inspiration.’ I actually don’t even remember what I said. I was rambling and I had a fangirl moment. She said thank you and kept walking. Then, she turns around and comes back and says, ‘Wait, I just noticed who you are. Keep up the good work. You’re amazing.’ She gave me a hug.”
