We are almost half way through the year and we’ve got new sounds from artists making waves in the industry. Keep an ear out for these rising stars and let us know what you think.

Artist: Joelle James

Track: Bleeding Machines (From The Original Motion Picture ‘Traffik’)

Hot Take: The Cali Roc Nation signee has been her making her rounds as singer-songwriter. In ‘Bleeding Machines’ we find the songstress unveil how we as a society deal with traumatic instances in our day to day lives.

Artist: Derrius Logan

Track: I Do

Hot Take: Derrius take a conceptually catchy sample and melds into something completely melodic and original on ‘I Do’.

Artist: Jae Stephens

Track: You Love That

Hot Take: A rising artist who deserves way more in way of her pop-adjacent curation of songs, but also the dedication to her craft. We find ‘You Love That’ somewhere in between personal realization-and self actualization which makes a fun journey to take listening to the song.

Artist: Johnny Yukon

Track: Lonely

Hot Take: In the same sentiments, newcomer Johnny Yukon treats ‘Lonely’ like a trap lullaby. The love letter sees him pleading to his girl about “only feeling lonely with you” which is a mood if ive ever heard one.
