Eminem has accomplished yet another huge feat. On Saturday, in between headlining Coachella sets, the Recovery rapper revealed he is officially 10 years sober.”Celebrated my 10 years yesterday,” the 45-year-old wrote on Instagram along with a photo of a coin given to Alcoholics Anonymous members once they’ve reached a milestone in their journey to sobriety. The coin also featured the Roman numeral X – for 10 years – in the middle, along with the words “service,” “unity,” and “recovery.”

Celebrated my 10 years yesterday.

The ‘Walk on Water’ rapper opened up about his substance abuse issues back in 2015 with Men’s Journal. “In 2007, I overdosed on pills, and I went into the hospital,” he shared. “I was close to 230 pounds. I’m not sure how I got so big, but I have ideas. The coating on the Vicodin and the Valium I’d been taking for years leaves a hole in your stomach, so to avoid a stomachache, I was constantly eating – and eating badly.”

Ten years later, the rapper is on his way to a consistent and steady path to sobriety. Congratulations Eminem.
