black panther: the album soundtrack

Ever since the 2014 announcement of the upcoming Black Panther film, feelings about what to expect have been all over the place, but in a mostly positive direction. With most of the focus being on the film, there was merely any talk about the soundtrack and what would come of it. That partial silence ended with Kendrick Lamar‘s subtle announcement of his involvement during his “LOVE.” music video.

Fast-forward to this very moment, Black Panther The Album is easily 2018’s most anticipated release, thus far. Packing in appearances from majority of TDE’s roster and bringing talents like Anderson .Paak, Travis Scott, James Blake and many others along for the ride, the release comes at a perfect time as we’re at the one week mark before Black Panther becomes available for us all to take in.

Lead by the anthemic “All The Stars” collaboration between Kendrick Lamar and SZA, the film’s director, Ryan Coogler and talented producer, Sounwave, spoke candidly in a recent interview about their involvement with the body of work. Giving us the feel that this was not a quickly thrown together project, but something that was meant to live up to just as great expectations as the film, the moment has arrived with Black Panther The Album now being available.

Confidently noting that this could very well be one of the best albums of the year, form your own thoughts and get lost in the music, below.
