Valentine’s Day is upon us and the sound of love and new releases is in the air. This week’s edition features new releases soaked in progressive R&B and dipped in soul & fun. Check out some of these exciting new artists new sounds and let us know what you think.

Artist: Maurice Moore

Track: Take Time

Hot Take: Maurice Moore jumps into 2018 with his latest effort that brings a fun and vibrant sound. “Whats the rush?” is definitely a motto for the new year, drop the top and vibe to this new jam.

Artist: Jayla Darden

Track: Idea 532

Hot Take: 20 year old Jayla Darden is such a refreshing artist, she writes, produces and arranges her own records. She also clearly knows her inspirations, with Aaliyah-esque vibes “Idea 532” sounds like it could’ve been a B-Side on Brandy’s “Full Moon” album. An artist to watch with a bright future ahead.

Artist: Kyle Dion

Track: Brown

Hot Take: Kyle returns to the scene with “Brown” and soul-dipped, slinky funk record that Dion absolutely masters. On the heels of one of my favorite tracks of 2017, the sensual “Cool Side of the Pillow”, the anticipation for his first full length project is peaking.

Artist: Ravyn Lenae

Track: Sticky

Hot Take: Ravyn returns to music with her second EP in about a year with the entirely Steve Lacy executive produced project “Crush”. The project glimmers with the cohesion of indie funk production and arrangement with “Sticky” shining as the intro track, give it a listen.
