Keke Palmer’s climb to fame started when she was a young girl. Over the past decade, she’s become a seasoned talent and exceptional young woman capable of singing, dancing, acting and now — heading a label.

The millennial girl boss sat down with Billboard to discuss her recent endeavors, the most exciting of which being the launch of “Big Boss Entertainment,”  which she sees as a way to give back to creatives like herself. “I want to empower my peers, so they also feel they’re not a part of the old way of doing things and be a part of the big bosses,” she tells Billboard. “Big Boss is about me helping expand and using what I know. I’m not always going to be Keke Palmer the entertainer, but it’s meant for me to get outside and move to the forefront. That’s what I’m building towards.”

It’s no secret that the Lauren singer’s brains are as big as her beauty. The tripple threat performer penned a book last year that made Karen Civil’s list of of ten must-read celebrity written books, titled I Don’t Belong to You: Quiet the Noise and Find Your Voice.
