Jay-Z delivered a soon-to-be classic body of work last year with his 4:44 album. The project was filled with not only incredible music, but life lessons pretty much anyone listening can use.

One of his standout cuts “Smile” found Hov showing his vulnerability by openly rapping about his mother, Gloria Carter, being a lesbian and him accepting it. Well, the record was so impactful that at the 29th annual GLAAD (The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) Media Awards, Jay-Z and his hit record will be honored in a major way.

Taking place in Beverley Hills on April 12th and New York City on May 5th, Jay-Z can now add a new accolade to his laundry list of them.

For those still unfamiliar with 4:44, cop it here.
