Post Malone’s “rockstar” featuring 21 Savage has been one of the biggest songs of 2018 so far, with the revelation that it broke Spotify’s record for longest No. 1 run on the Spotify Global Chart. For 108 straight days, the double-platinum certified hit has sat atop the chart, and there’s no indicator that this status will change anytime soon.

Although it’s been huge in 2018, last year it saw just as much success. It topped the Billboard 100 for eight weeks and also became the first U.S. rap song to be No. 1 for more than a week at a time in the United Kindom since “It’s Like That” by Run D.M.C.

Outside of mainstream prominence, it has continued to gain publicity because of a recent claim from Joey Bada$$ that he ghostwrote some of the song’s lyrics. Singer T-Pain later revealed that on the original version of the track, both he and Bada$$ were featured.

“rockstar” is the first single from Post Malone’s upcoming album Beerbongs& Bentleys.
