The case against Meek Mill continues to get stranger and stranger as it plays out in the public eye. Apparently while Meek’s case was going on, the Philly judge overseeing his case was being investigated by the FBI herself.

According to Philly.com:

Agents wanted the rapper to surreptitiously record conversations with Brinkley, who he alleged had tried to extort favors from him in exchange for leniency, the sources say.

But Mill refused – and the inquiry faded away.

Philly.com adds:

Separate federal law enforcement sources have confirmed that there is no active investigation into the judge. But even a fleeting mention of the now-closed inquiry was bound to raise eyebrows in a city where a number of judges have been convicted of crimes or ousted in ethical scandals in recent years.

After being denied bail last week, Meek’s troubles continue to haunt him. His lawyers continue to appeal the judge’s harsh decision to the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Until then, Meek will sadly remain in prison.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Meek and his friends and family.
