Beautiful and well-spoken as ever, renowned “Princess of R&B,” Ashanti, popped in on the Breakfast Club to promote her new single “Say Less.” Before she could, though, she had to spill tea and dispel a few rumors — starting with why she has Charlemagne blocked on Twitter.

Charlemagne, who in true fandom finds himself saying he always thought Ashanti’s brand “should be way bigger,” lead her to defend the standings of her career. “I think a lot of things happen beyond my control,” said the +15-year music veteran. “Being a part of a record label that was federally indicted, you know, and having associated that and everything that came along with the extra-ness that I was apart of…”

She went on to discuss Murda Inc., her love life, and how she’s managed to stay relevant for so long. As for the music, her new song features Ty Dolla Sign, whose made quite the name for himself in both singing and songwriting circles. Ashanti also announced that she will be releasing more music soon before her new album arrives early next year.
