When rolling out the names of influential music moguls, you’d be silly not to mention living legend Clive Davis. Apple recently shared a new trailer for a documentary that will tribute the producer’s life, titledĀ Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives.

The documentary is based on his autobiography of the same name that released in late 2013. Directed by Chris Perkel, the film catalogues his life from his start at Columbia Records in the 1960s, to his work at record companies like J Records and RCA Music Group in the 2000s. During that time, the multi-grammy award winner and Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer’s became synonymous with good music. “Look, deep down we all wanted to be Clive Davis,” says Simon Cowell, one of many celebrities plucked to discuss Davis’ legacy.

Watch the trailer below, also featuring appearances fromĀ Janis Joplin, Miles Davis, Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, TLC, Usher, Billy Joel, Maroon 5, Whitney Houston, and more.
