O.J. Simpson Granted Parole, To Be Released in October

Update: O.J. Simpson will be a free man this coming October after he wins the case for his release form prison. CNN reports the parole board members cited community support and stable life plans after he is released. The decision of the board was unanimous as all four members voted in favor of O.J. Prior to the decision being released, O.J. was joined by his attorney Malcolm Lavergne, daughter, Arnelle Simpson, sister, Shirley Baker and his friend, Tom Scotto.

Original Text: We often hear history repeats himself, welcome back to O.J. Simpson taking over the news cycle. Some of you may remember the famed football player taking over televisions with his high speed chase and trail in the 90s, some of you may have seen the FX and ESPN television shows that chronicled the events, both groups are able to see O.J.’s legal issues on television and online again.

O.J. Simpson’s parole hearing his underway today and you can see all of the proceedings from Nevada below. The Juice will appear in front of parole commissions via video from the correctional center that he is currently housed. O.J. is currently in prison on a 33-year sentence for burglary and kidnapping charges from an armed robbery of sports memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas. To date, Simpsons has served nine years.

Today, Simpsons is facing charges of Aggregated Deadly Weapons charge and two Assault Charges. Will he be paroled? We’ll see. Tune in below.
