Forbes just confirmed that Hip-Hop and R&B is officially the most dominant genre in the U.S. for the first time ever.

Nielsen Music recently released its annual mid-year report, which takes a look at how the music industry is doing halfway through the year and lists which songs and albums are performing the best.

According to Nelson Music, Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” is still one of the most popular songs of 2017. While Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. is one of the favorites as well.

Hip-Hop and R&B is now responsible for 25.1% of all music consumption in the U.S.

Big up to the culture, and lets continue raising the bar!
