Sevyn at the BET Awards Red Carpet

You’ve been working on your album, Girl Disrupted which is dropping next month (July 7th). What can you tell us about that?

Sevyn: I’m so excited about it. It’s been a long time coming, and the fans have been so patient. I wouldn’t want to have it any other way. It’s everything that I’ve gone through in the last year and a half. From battling depression to love lost and trying to love again.

 Any features we can expect from it?

Sevyn: I have a lot of cool features on there from Dave East to Wiz Khalifa, Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign, and DeJ Loaf. It’s a little bit of everything, and it’s such a good body of work. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it.

You we’re one of the 10 who made it to this year’s XXL Freshman cover, what does that mean to you?

Kap G: Aw man, it’s mean a lot to me. It means that I’m putting in work and that my art is being looked at by a lot of different people.

You recently dropped your music video for “I See You” with Chris Brown. Anyone else you’d like to work with in the years to come?

Kap G: I’m looking forward to working with anyone who’s working and who’s dope. I’ve always been that type of person who doesn’t really care about the fame or how big you are so as long as you’re dope.

What’s next for Kap G?

Kap G: I’m going on tour next month on the “SuperJefe” tour. I’m also teaming up with Sprite for their new lyrics Sprite campaign, and the XXL cover. I’m just putting in work!
