After a court hearing today (June 15), hip-hop podcaster and influential personality Taxstone has plead guilty to two federal weapons charges related to last year’s shooting incident at NY’s Irving Plaza.

According to the NY Daily News, Tax copped to possessing a firearm as a felon and receiving a firearm in interstate commerce, which leads him to facing 20 years in prison.

While he hasn’t been charged with any level of murder as of now, the Manhattan U.S. Attorney told the judge that Tax had “fired one shot that killed Ronald McPhatter,” Troy Ave’s bodyguard who was the fatal victim in the shooting. It should be noted Tax’s DNA was found on various parts of the murder weapon.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update everyone accordingly. Our thoughts are with Tax and his family and friends.
