Dr. Dre has vowed to donate a whopping $10 million to Compton High School for a brand new, state-of-the-art performing arts center.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the new complex will feature the best equipment and technology the business has to offer, including a 1,200-seat theatre and all new digital media production facilities.

In addition to his own donation, Dre says he will be directly involved in helping raise more funds to complete the center. His plan is for a 2020 grand opening. Here’s what Dre said in a statement:

“My goal is to provide kids with the kind of tools and learning they deserve,” Dre says. “The performing arts center will be a place for young people to be creative in a way that will help further their education and positively define their future.”

Satra Zurita, president of Compton Unified’s governing board of trustees, had this to say:

“The support that Dre has shown to Compton over the years is unwavering and we are so excited that we will now be home to one of the greatest performing arts centers in the country.”

Way to go, Doc!
