G Herbo (formerly known as Lil Herb) has been making a name for himself. Haling from Chicago, he was of the 2016 XXL Freshman Class despite having been a force in the industry well before that.

Back in 2014, he released his debut mixtape Welcome to Fazoland in honor of his friend Fazon Robinson, who was killed by gun violence in Chicago. This heartfelt and meaningful project catapulted Herbo to stardom and he’s now one of the leading forces in Chicago and beyond.

Just a couple weeks ago, the Chi-Town rapper released a commemorative merchandise capsule in conjunction with the release of his Welcome To Fazoland 1.5 EP – celebrating the 3-year anniversary of the aforementioned Welcome To Fazoland.

Herbo recently wrapped up a busy week at SXSW 2017 where he performed to a completely sold-out crowd at the Mass Appeal Presents: Live At The BBQ showcase, alongside A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Dave East and headliner, Lil Wayne. We caught up with the young spitter earlier in the day to talk about his latest EP, his merchandise line, and much more.
