Though he’s no longer our Vice President, Joe Biden is continuing to stay in the mix as he is set to serve as a guest speaker at the 29th annual South By South West (SXSW) conference and music festival down in Austin, TX.

Following the footsteps of former president Barack Obama, who served as keynote speaker at last year’s convention, Biden will be discussing his Biden Cancer Initiative and his valiant efforts to eradicate the disease. The initiative comes two years after the death of his son, Beau, who passed away from brain cancer.

Here’s what Chief Programming Officer, Hugh Forrest had to say about Biden’s scheduled appearance at SXSW:

“We’re excited to have Vice President Biden address the creative innovators and entrepreneurs that attend SXSW,” said Hugh Forrest, Chief Programming Officer. “His commitment and leadership is crucial at a time when the smartest minds from the worlds of technology and healthcare are working together to create groundbreaking new solutions in the battle to end cancer.”

Those who have registered for SXSW will be able to see former VP Joe Biden’s address over at the Austin Convention Center on Sunday, March 12th at 3:30pm. You won’t want to miss this one!
