While the music industry has been a male dominated arena since the beginning of time, there’s no denying that women have paved their own way to run with the big dogs and 2016 was further proof of that.
Continuing our week of year end wrap ups for the 2016 music year, we’re back today ranking the year’s biggest and best female stars.
Hip-hop pioneers like Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj made a resurgence, to soulful vocalists like Adele and Ariana Grande, who had record-breaking years. And of course, let’s not forget Beyonce and Rihanna who stole our hearts and attention with their respective new albums.
This debate wasn’t easy, but we’re here with what we think are the 20 best female artists of 2016, ranked and in order.

Gtfoh, both Drake and Adele sold more records than Beyoncé this year. Awards don’t mean shit, since they are skewed and plus Beyoncé was exposed for saying she won’t perform at awards show unless they let her win. She is an ego-centric maniac. She deserves the no 4. Spot not 1.
