Serving as one of many surprises that the folks of the music industry have delivered this year, Childish Gambino’s latest studio album, Awaken, My Love!, was right on time. Marking what many would consider a new and unexpected sound for the rapper/singer, Gambino’s latest collection of tunes are now getting promotion treatment as he stopped by The Tonight Show for a new performance.

Being a favorite among many upon the record’s release, Childish Gambino took us back in time as he delivered a live rendition of “Redbone.” Backed by an impressive band, background singers, and a spotlight focused solely on him, the “Redbone” performance was just as interesting as it was captivating. Having such a unique body of work now released into the world, we can only hope that there’s much more of this in store for us all.
