This past weekend, the Meadows Festival came to New York City and saw performances from all types of stars including Kanye West, Chance The Rapper, Bryson Tiller and more. The Weeknd was scratched last minute for timing issues, but have no fear, J. Cole stepped in to save the day.

After shutting down the stage with another memorable performance, Cole had some words to tell the crowd that are quite unsettling if you’re a big fan. “This is my last show for a very long time,” Cole announced.

He didn’t specify as to why that performance would be his last for a long time, but we’re hoping to get some more insight sooner than later. Remember, on Khaled’s Major Key cut “Jermaine’s Interlude,” Cole rapped “How the f**k do I look when I brag to you about some diamond?/Said all that I could say, now I play with thoughts of retirement.”

Is this really happening? I certainly hope not. Weigh in with your thoughts below.
