Shawty Lo’s death came as a surprise for everyone. While friends and family mourned in their own ways, Rick Ross took to the mic.

The Boss remixed Shawty Lo’s “I’m Da Man” into his own MMG fashion. The song first hit when Lo was starting off his solo career. Soon after, in 2007, Ross and Lil Wayne hopped on it for the official remix. Now since his death, Lo’s original lyrics were kept on  after Rick threw on his new ones shouting out the fallen soldier.

“Shawty Lo! Shawty Lo! I’m finna smoke one my nigga God bless your soul”
