Chance The Rapper can add another achievement to his 2016 laundry list of them.

It’s just been announced that the Chicago star will be performing at this year’s annual National Christmas Tree Lighting put together by the White House. Chance will be joined by Kelly Clarkson and gospel singer Yolanda Adams.

All three of these artists have ties to the Obama’s and the White House as both Clarkson and Adams have performed at various events including Barack’s 2013 inauguration and the White House’s popular “In Performance” events. While Chance hasn’t performed at any official White House events, his ties to Obama are much deeper than music. In fact, Chance’s father used to work for Obama when he was a senator in Illinois.

Chance recently spoke about his relationship with Barack (casual, huh?) in a new interview with GQ. “He brings me up to his office, and we had a really good conversation about what I was working on,” Chance said. “He told me I needed to start selling my music. He’s a good man. Even if he wasn’t president, if his ass worked at, like, Red Lobster, he’d be just a good man working at Red Lobster.”

Yeah, 2016 belongs to Chance in more ways than one.

The event will take place on December 1st and there will be a free ticket lottery for the general public starting next month on October 7th. For more information, visit the National Christmas Tree’s website.
