UPDATE 2: Desiigner has been released from prison and will only be facing misdemeanor charges for possession and menacing. It’s all positive as he’s leaving the jail house:

UPDATE: TMZ reports that the gun charge originally given to Desiigner has been dropped after no firearm was found. He was charged for possession of a firearm based on what the other driver told police. The DA also dropped the intent to sell charge.

This is a big piece of good fortune for Desiigner, as we all know how extreme the penalties are for having a firearm (loaded, at that) in New York City. We’ll continue to keep you posted as more information surfaces.

Some unfortunate news surfaced early this morning in relation to one of the industry’s hottest stars right now in Desiigner. According to reports, Desiigner and four other people were arrested for possession of drugs and guns late last night in NYC.

The arrest came from a road rage incident where it’s alleged that the “Panda” hitmaker pointed a gun at the driver of another car. Police then tracked down the car Desiigner was in and that’s where they found “a large quantity of loose pills int he center console” as well as “oxycontin and other drugs,” according to TMZ.

Desiigner and the others were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell. If you’re found in possession of drugs and are facing legal action because of it, you could have a look for an attorney who may be able to assist you with that. Desiigner was also charged with felony criminal possession of a loaded weapon and menacing.
