The video of Fetty passing you the keys to a BMW i8 went viral and had people talking for days. What was that moment like for you?

Monty: That was crazy man, I ain’t even know. We were just in the house chilling, and Zoo surprised me. Next thing you know, we go outside and there was a i8 in front of us. All I know is that I got much love for my n**ga for that, and much more.

You and the RGF crew just released your compilation album with all of you, but do you ever see you and Fetty doing a duo album just you two?

Monty: Oh yeah! Anything is possible and with the way things are looking, we’ll make it happen in no time. Who knows, soon you guys could get that Fetty, Monty, Remy Boyz album, so stay tuned…

Being from the East Coast, and knowing that it’s been a huge staple for the hip-hop community. How has that played a role in your career?

Monty: That’s where I got my sound from. Growing up, I got influenced by my New York fam and artists like Jadakiss and Lil Wayne. The East Coast has always been my nitch, has played a big part in my flow, and game.

Changing subjects for a bit. What are your thoughts on everything that’s been happening around the country with police brutality? What do you think we as a nation can do to help?

Monty: Black Lives Matter, there is no doubt about that! As for the incidents that have been going around, it’s sad. People know what’s right and what’s wrong, and there’s just so much bullsh*t that makes me mad.

I’m no one to tell people how to handle their sh*t, but what I do know is that we need to come together as one and stand up for it. Don’t just let it pass you, and not do anything about it. Do something about it!

On a lighter note, we have just a few months left in the year — tell me, 2016 cannot end without Monty doing what?

Monty: Oh man, 2016 cannot end without Monty dropping this new mixtape, Monty Zoo 2, and I’m letting ya’ll know right now, that there’s going to be a lot more of me. There’s a lot of surprises coming up, and ya’ll going to f*ck with what we have [no doubt].

I’m also dropping a couple more music videos, and if you’re in New York later this month, you can catch me performing with Fetty at the Billboard Hot 100 Music Festival on August 20th-21st.
