It’s no secret that J Dilla loved Detroit and vice versa. To celebrate the legendary producer a Dilla donut shop titled Dilla’s Delights opened Tuesday morning and sold out three times during its opening day.

Herman Hayes, the uncle of J Dilla, owns the new business and chose to honor his nephew with a donut shop due to the tasty pastry being his favorite snack.

“This is all about bringing something to the community and then help DIlla’s kids,” Store Manager Glenn Felton stated. “We’re going to have them come in here and learn the business, something they can learn and take over when it’s time.”
