It’s been a long few days for the music world as we continue to cope with the passing of the iconic musician Prince. The one good part that’s come out of it, however, is the large amount of exposure Prince and his music have been getting, and by folks who were unfamiliar with him in the past.

So much so, that Prince has managed to earn the number 1 and number 2 spot on this week’s Billboard 200 Album Chart. The number 1 spot is The Very Best Of Prince with 179,000 units sold (100,000 of which were traditional album sales,) while number 2 is the classic Purple Rain soundtrack, which moved about 69,000 units.

In addition to the top 2 spots, Prince also earned the 6th spot on the chart with his triple album The Hits/The B-Sides, which moved about 41,000 units this week too. Just imagine if Prince’s music was available on every streaming service…

While none of this changes how much we miss the man, it’s good to know that Prince’s music and legacy will seemingly continue to live on forever. Rest in Power Prince!
