New Dilla music is on it’s way!

Zane Lowe has announced, via Beats 1 Radio, that the long lost and highly anticipated vocal album, The Diary, will finally be released this year. J Dilla will forever be one of the greats, in fact, a legend in hip-hop who’s known for his epic production and contributions to the culture. According to Dilla Estate creative director and former Stones Throw general manager, Eothen “Egon” Alapatt, this is the last record the late producer wanted out.

This month marks both J Dilla’s passing and the Donuts instrumental album’s 10th Anniversary. What better way to pay homage than to announce the release of quality, Dilla Dawg hip-hop? The Diary consists of appearances by Snoop Dogg, Bilal, Madlib, Pete Rock and Nottz and will be released through Nas’ Mass Appeal Records on April 15th.

Three years ago, “Anthem” featuring Frank-N-Dank was released as the first single. While the album was originally set to drop in Spring 2013 via Jay Dee’s Pay Jay imprint, the setback is unclear but we’re just hype that it’s coming now.  Listen to “The Introduction” off The Diary, debuted by Zane Lowe below and hit us up with your comments.
