With Spike Lee’s controversial new movie Chi-raq causing quite a stir of disgust, uneasiness, etc., several of today’s prominent figures, specifically from the Chi, have spoken out on the situation including Chance The Rapper, Twista, Mayor Rahm Emanuel and more.

Today one of the Chi’s legends, R. Kelly, lets loose a new song from the movie’s soundtrack titled “Put The Guns Down” featuring another Chi-town native Tink. The song is quite catchy and will hopefully bring some positive light to a not-so positive situation. According to HHNM, here’s what Kellz had to say about the song:

“One man can’t do it by himself. I would hope that I have some type of influence out there on the younger and the older people. As far as violence is concerned period, put the guns down, put the knives down and, most of all, put the hating down. Love is going to get us through all of things we’re going through.”
