K. Michelle Takes A Stand, Names Her New Album ‘#IAintWhiteButIHopeYouLike’
by Staff Editor
K. Michelle has just made a bold and courageous move with her forthcoming album. The singer/songwriter will be naming her new albumĀ #IAintWhiteButIHopeYouLike in light of recent discrimination she says she faces in the music industry. When one of her fans asked her via Twitter why she’s naming her album that, Michelle tweets, “I’m sick of executives telling me I can’t sing certain songs because I’m black. I grew up on country, let me sing.”
She continues on to say that she’s faced discrimination for years in this industry and has even been told that she can’t sing certain songs because she’s black. Ridiculous, to say the least. Read K’s tweets below and make sure you’re on the look out for the soon-to-be historical album.
