It’s hardly been a year since Under Pressure hit the stores and already, Logic has unleashed his second album, The Incredible True Story. Say what you like about his style and how he’s influenced by his peers but ultimately, it’s been a very successful 12 months for the Maryland rapper. His humility and appreciation for his position has always been evident but he’s not just here for the ride any more.

Throughout the album, there are consistent themes from the rest of career. Thalia makes a return and the subject matter is as self-conscious as ever. One difference that you’ll notice immediately is that Logic is more aware and self-confident and has no problem with displaying it, whether that’s through his rapid flow or his singing which he now takes a more prominent stance with. As a whole, the production is notably more grandiose and progression is evident.

Metaphors are clear but of course, the concept of the album will take time to completely digest. For now, here are five songs which stood out to us on our First Listen.
