Last night, Power 105 hosted their annual Powerhouse concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and it was definitely one that hip-hop fans would be disappointed to miss.

With quite the extensively popular lineup on the original bill, ticket-holders came with high hopes, and left more than satisfied. Although the artists given their own set were enough to draw in the sold out crowd, the surprises in store would soon shock the whole arena, as rookies and veterans all made their respective appearances.

The night started out with fans filing in to the sounds of Jidenna, who opened up the lengthy concert with his newer tracks, as well as concluding with his most popular single, “Classic Man.” Dressed in a full tailored suit, fit to his signature style, he pepped up the awaiting crowd with some smooth moves and vocals alike.

Following in his footsteps was Omarion, who not only performed some of his newer material from the last year, but even took it back to his B2K days by performing “Bump Bump Bump.” The singer was more than pleased with the response from the crowd, especially the ladies, as he moved into his smash hit over the last year, “Post To Be.” He even made sure majority of the crowd was able to sing the infamous line from Jhené Aiko’s verse, “…but he gotta eat the booty like groceries,” without any background music to accompany. It’s safe to say things were off to a great start for the powered up show.

Next up was Jeremih, who didn’t hold back bringing out his hits for the crowd, as he was joined by two backup dancers on stage to add more pizazz to his set. Going from older tracks such as “Imma Star” and “Birthday Sex,” which he performed himself through his keyboard, he had quite a few tricks up his sleeve, bringing out Natalie La Rose. The two took on their joint track “Somebody,” harmonizing to their track’s vocals just like the recorded song.

The surprises weren’t over, however, as Jeremih also brought out K Camp shortly after, where he had him perform his recent hit, “Lil Bit.” To the disappointment of the ladies, Camp didn’t have time perform his lovey dovey track, “Comfortable,” but Jeremih made up for it by bringing out 2 Milly to show Brooklyn how to Milly Rock. This is actually the second time he’s making an appearance at the Barclays this week, as he also came out for the Tidal concert on Tuesday evening during Justine Skye’s set.

Jeremih closed out his set by performing his newer hits like “Don’t Tell ‘Em,” as well as the crowd favorite, “Planes,” without featured guest, J. Cole.

Kendrick Lamar indeed had the BEST SET at powerhouse regardless of the crowd presence he still had each and every person turning up in that arena! Fetty Wap’s persistence and determination gave us an absolutely amazing show and it made people’s days that he showed up. I was there last night and reading this article is making me live through the concert once again.
