As today marks the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March, activists have gathered at the National Mall in Washington D.C to let their voices be heard. Under the theme #JusticeOrElse, this year’s celebratory rally is aimed at achieving justice for all regardless of creed, class, or race.

In light of recent events, Kendrick Lamar’s empowering  To Pimp a Butterfly track “Alright” has served as the soundtrack for the push for equality. Earlier this year, Cleveland State University students chanted the song during a protest against police brutality. Similarly, activists in D.C. this weekend are using the track’s emotional refrain as a rallying cry to acknowledge the urgency of their cause:

Contrary to popular belief, hip-hop is surely proving to be less of a hazard and more so a voice for the voiceless.
