T.I. took the art of poetry into his hands to urge the black community to take the Black Lives Matter movement further than social media.

TV One’s Triumph Awards will air the rapper’s performance. Tip delivers the message of making sure #BlackLivesMatter is kept alive outside the world of hashtags. For him, the only way to start change is to get up and make a difference in the real world.

He also shames those who are using the popularity of the movement to advance themselves socially. Allowing themselves to become “slaves” just more followers.

“Swimming with DMs, likes, comments Not noticing how much it makes us slaves
Chained by man-made device small enough to fit into the palm of our hand
I guess that’s made it easy to swipe to the left and scroll to the next
And forget about Sandra Bland”
