Justin Bieber is looking to break the chains on the cover of the latest issue of Complex. Appearing submerged in water the pop star talks a variety of subjects such as religion, working with Kanye West, his relationship with Selena Gomez, being arrested and more.

One of the most highly publicized topics surrounding Justin Bieber is the romance that developed between he and Selena Gomez, in which he details, as “we were so in love.”

“We were all about each other,” Bieber said. “But when it’s like that and you get your value from that, people will always disappoint you. Your girl or your dude, they’re always going to disappoint you.”

Bieber talks about how he learned about love from his relationship with Selena Gomez but that wasn’t the only thing he has learned over the years, another lesson came from his highly publicized interaction with the police.

“The police, they just wanted press; they wanted attention. I never was speeding; I never was drag racing. Everything that comes out of Miami was ‘Justin with his dad drag racing,’” Bieber shared. “The cop supposedly wanted to be famous for arresting celebrities, and someone had heard him say that prior to that.”
