When the hip-hop world lost A$AP Yams early this year, we were all shocked and saddened to see such an influential person lose his life so young. A$AP Rocky has done everything in his power to keep Yams’ name alive and has succeeded immensely. But he’s not finished paying homage to the guy that helped catapult him from the gold-teeth wearing rapper from Harlem, to the global sensation he is today.

Sitting down with MTV, Rocky has revealed that he’s currently finishing up the album A$AP Yams was working on titled Cozy Tapes. Flacko says Yams started to work on the album and come up with the concepts prior to his passing, and that all of his notes and ideas are written in a notebook that Rocky always has with him.

“I was mostly working on my album A.L.L.A. while he was curating and organizing who he wanted for the [Cozy Tapes],” Rocky tells MTV. “He put it all in his notebook that I carry around with me every day. I’ve got all of his thoughts and I just plan to execute what he started.”

Rocky also spoke on his recent video “Everyday,” which he says was a way to pay homage to all of the notable celebrities we lost to drug addiction, and to bring the issue to light.

Watch his short interview with MTV above and stay tuned for more information surrounding Cozy Tapes.
