Lil B spent his 26th birthday on Monday (August 17) discussing politics, Bernie Sanders, the Black Lives Matter movement and more on “MSNBC.”

The “Based God” rapper sat down with Michael Eric Dyson, as they dished back and forward with each viewpoint.

The segment opened up with Dyson reporting on Sanders’ statement to the Black Lives Matter movement from an appearance earlier this weekend. Dyson then asked Lil B to share his reasons on why he’s supporting Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton and what he feels about Sanders’ response to the BLM.

Lil B says, “Well you know, sir, just coming from the Bay Area, being around places like Oakland, where they have the divide in East Oakland, where we need to raise minimum wage. Bernie Sanders wants to rebuild bridges, and he’s also fighting against the fossil fuels, and things of that nature. I’m really down for that, ’cause I’m down to conserve and save energy.”

He later continued by urging candidates and citizens alike to pay more attention to the Black Lives Matters issues and prejudice faced by members of the LGBTQ community.
