17-year-old Silento is whipping and nae-nae-ing straight to the bank. The Atlanta teen has reached a milestone in music most artist dream about. Also known as Ricky Lamar Hawk, Silento is officially a RIAA-certified platinum artist with over one millions sales for his contagious dance and song. The record sold 2 million globally and accumulated over 100 million Vevo views since the June release. The song also became No. 1 on iTunes in 15 countries and real-time UK Shazam Charts.

The song has everyone from children to weathermen doing the Whip/Nae Nae. The phenomenon has certainly taken over the internet as the hottest dance craze since Soulja Boi’s “Superman”. However, the teen isn’t just stunting on the web, he has made appearances on several daytime news shows including Good Morning America and LIVE with Kelly and Michael.
