When hip-hop thinks of Papoose, most will think of his hardcore bars, and intense freestyles that hold no mercy.  The Brooklyn native has been in the rap game for over a decade, first making his most major move through his infamous verse on Busta Rhymes’ “Touch It Remix.” Since then, Papoose has gone through a lot on a personal level, with his now-wife Remy Ma being locked up for 6 years, who he has joined the Love & Hip Hop cast with, as well as the death of his close cousin.

Fast forward to today, the MC is ready to embrace his own growth, and take on his new perspective through his new album You Can’t Stop Destiny, having dropped last week. “I’m in a whole different space in my life. So mentally, my mind is different, my ideas, and my whole outlook on life are different,” he says of his sound in our Civil Interview. From his musical growth and linking up with Ty Dolla $ign, to the side of him that Remy wants us all to see, step into the mind of Papoose on the following pages. –Lindsey India
