Your mixtape Lost in Los Angeles, what can you tell us about it?

Nyzzy Nyce: It’s about me coming from Fort Wayne and coming to a new big city and making the music that influenced me from my new involvement being in this city. With it being weed shops everywhere, fast pace lifestyle, going to Runyon hiking, it just created all the music for me. The weather and going to the beach put me in a new mood. A lot of these songs has strong sounds to them. You will hear one like “he must have went to the beach on this one.” I was in different environments so I was writing music that would reflect that. I have a song called “View of the Ocean” to where if you go to the beach you can play this song.

How was your experience with the Mountain Dew tour?

Nyzzy Nyce: The Dew Tour was cool, LOGIC was cool, everybody was showing mad love. What I got from it was anything is possible from a small town. Being a part of that function would help boost mixtape numbers and help people be aware of my music.

What are key lessons you are learning early on?

Nyzzy Nyce: Get it off your own muscle and have a strong team behind you. A lot of guys want to come out and do everything on their own and that stuff happens overnight. There are some stories were stuff happens overnight but that doesn’t happen for everybody. You have to have a strong team behind you, that’s what helps you take off. People who are ready to work and believe in the product that you do. You have to record on your own, social media, shoot videos, and find someone to shoot videos. It’s different now, you have to make your own following so definitely have people that believe in you.

What are your upcoming goals?

Nyzzy Nyce: Up next I’m going to keep dropping videos and CDs man. I already have an EP I recorded out in Paris called “Lost in Paris.” I’m just waiting on everything paperwork wise ready to release that, that thing is ready to go. I also have another tape that I’m working on so I’ve been busy. I’ve been in that studio like crazy. I’m young right now and I have the opportunity to put out as much music as I want to with this distribution deal so I need to do that since I’ve been blessed with this opportunity.
